Why aren’t you buying Ted Noodleman, Bicycle Delivery Boy by yours truly and the incomperable Ryan Ottley? Probably because you’ve never heard of it. But I’m here to tell ya yer really missing out. of course, I might be a wee bit biased…but that’s ok, I’m allowed.
Today my breast swells with pride as my brother, the CEO of TRIGGIT, inc. gets some props as the opening salvo in a Washington Post article about Web 2.0. Zach (that being the brother) is one hell of a hard worker and more than deserving of this…but it’s damn nice to see others agree! HOORAY!
At the Web 2.0 conference here in 2005 — back before Google had paid $1.65 billion for YouTube and people were talking about valuations for Facebook of $15 billion — Zach Coelius, a precocious 25-year-old who had snuck into the hall without paying, stepped up to the microphone and asked the speaker for a bit of career advice.
Start a company, replied Rupert Murdoch.
Now, two years later, Coelius has wheedled his way in again, this time to the Internet A-list party at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, sponsored by MySpace, which Murdoch purchased in 2005 for what now looks like a bargain price of $580 million. Within minutes, Coelius has pushed through the throng and buttonholed Murdoch to report on how it has all worked out — how he had parlayed a "chance" meeting with a venture capitalist into an invitation to a regular poker game with other VCs who seeded his new "widget" company with their poker losses and later with modest first-round financing. Now, with a small staff and a tested product, Triggit.com is about to launch.
For the next two minutes, the two scheming entrepreneurs traded stories, the jowly septuagenarian media mogul filling in some details of how he broke the newspaper printers union on London’s Fleet Street, the lanky young upstart riffing on the spectacular promise of social networking. It’s hard to say who was enjoying the conversation more. But like many in the room, they had the sense that this was one of those magic moments that comes along every decade or so, when nothing is certain, everything is possible and anything can be spun into gold.

Go Zach go!!!

Many of you who read this blog are probably wondering where the hell I am. Me too. I have been deadlining like a fiend on several books. That’s good news though. It also means I don’t blog much though. BAH!
But I am writing today because I am testing a groovy new tool from TRIGGIT (www.triggit.com) that allows me to drag and drop images from flikr and videos from YouTube into the post…AFTER I’ve written it.
For example…
ANNNNND…
Now let’s face it, that’s just cool. And useful!
I’ll be back later this week with a HUGE game list…it’ll be worth the wait…as well as comic info and maybe some random silliness. WHEEEEEEEE!
Meanwhile, if you want to help betatest TRIGGIT as seen in this post, let me know…I’ll give ya the hook up!

It’s Baaaaaack! Due to some comic book lettering deadlines I have completely neglected ya’ll. But you have been in my mind, so here comes the games that have been maddening me for the last couple of weeks. Post high scores!
PUMPKIN CARVING!
http://www.cubpack81.com/images/carve_pumpkin.swf
Halloween is just around the corner…at least in my house (lots of short people, pre acne). This is a great way to get in the spirit. It’s also a fun way to test out more advanced carves for your squash artistes.

Bloxorz
http://www.thegamehomepage.com/play/bloxorz/
Yeah…I’m already hating myself for this one. This is a puzzle game like few others–it actually held my interest all the way through. It’s beautiful to look at, challenging, and just simple enough to play you’ll be gnashing your teeth for at least an hour. No hate mail please, I’ve written enough to myself.
Hyper Sphere
http://irate-nation.com/games/hyper-sphere/hyper-sphere.swf
As a kid in Chicago in 1983 I remember few things better than going to the arcade and playing whatever whacked out game came out that month that made little or no sense. One of the best (it was relative to my age, I’m sure) involved a Russian bear balancing on a ball wandering a maze and trying not to fall off into oblivion below called Crystal Castles. I was terrible at it…and I’m no better at this. But i gotta admit, it’s a lot of fun trying!
The Escape Game
http://lqgame.com/top-e.html
As a rule I am not a fan of the "locked room games"…which is strange as i am a huge fan of locked room murder
mysteries. the main reason I don’t like them is they’re usually about hitting the combinations enough times that you eventually win by default. To be honest, this one isn’t much different. So why am I recommending this one? It could be that it’s better thought out than a lot I’ve played…it is…it could be that it’s tougher than many I’ve played…yeah, that too…but mainly, it’s because it has a "suicide pill" that gives you a quick, if dishonorable out. Give it a go. If you like this type of game, you’ll love it…if you don’t, take the pill.
Word Shoot
http://cognitivelabs.com/word_shoot.htm
My kids can’t type to save their
souls…worse yet, though I cruise along at over 100 words a minute, it’s all hunt-n-peck (yeah, I’ve been clocked). So, what’s a guy to do? Right! Find a game where typing a word is the way you kill the bad guys. Better yet, find one that has enough levels of difficulty that if you’re not touch-typing your roast meat. Type that bastard!
Blocky Game
http://freewebarcade.com/game/blocky-game/
So, you’ve made it this far? Good for you. Time to step up those patern recognition skills. This is simple: Just clear the screen of colored blocks by drawing squares with all the same colors in the corners. How simple could it be? WARNING: Don’t do this one drunk or you may wake up tomorrow with a hangover and your computer outside on the sidewalk smashed to bits with the neighbor kid’s Louisville Slugger. You’ve been warned.

Dice Wars
http://www.gamedesign.jp/flash/dice/dice.html
Do you like Risk but have no one to play with? Here’s a nifty little alternative I remember playing in coffee shops back in college but i haven’t seen since. It’s fun and a bit addicting. But remember, when you yell "GOTCHA BITCH!" at the screen, you’re really only playing with yourself.
IndestructoTank
http://funderoo.com/games/indestructo
I’m kinda mixed on this one. It barely made the list this week. However, it has a few really nifty things going for it. First, it has a game mechanic I’ve never seen done quite like this before. that not only makes it fresh, it makes it unique. Second, it’s the first game in my memory (which is admittedly shoddy) where you get points to spend buying your enemies…got that? You don’t improve yourself, you buy different kinds of THEM. That’s just nifty. Third, I have had a crush on Laura Petty ever since the movie TANK GIRL and this just gives me a warm fuzzy thinking about it.
Oh, Don’t Forget
http://www.ohdontforget.com/
Ok, this isn’t a game, it’s a reminder service. Type in a cell phone number and it’ll text whatever you want at whatever time / date you want.. Like a reminder to get your ass to bed by 1AM after playing these games all night. It’s also fun to screw with your friends. Muhahahahahaha!

Manamana Ya’ll!

Microsoft, in yet another push to recover the
ground lost to Mozilla, Google and other up-n-comers has actually taken the rather brilliant step of including a WYSIWYG blog editor with VISTA (downloadable for XP jocks too0 that actually is cross-blog compatible and seems to by pretty slick. How Slick? Wellll…right now I’m giving it a go and it’s not too bad so far. Yea Me!
Most notable is that I now have a Windows spell check…which is still a bit better than anything for Firefox (though those are improving mighty fast). Also, it doesn’t force me to boot up a browser to use…which may, someday, impress me.
More later on this…or not.
For those of you who got this far, thanks. Here’s a bonus treat. Coming soon TWO new books written by yours truly. Comics that is. White Gold. Geeky tea. No, I’m not moving to Beverly…but wouldn’t that be nice?

Huh?
Yeah…well…special edition this week.
Katapult 2007! http://spill.sesam.no/katapult/katapult2007.swf
It’s Norway’s fantastic catapult game…and i mean it’s outstanding! Yeah, it’s in Norwegian…but you’ll get over that soon enough 9the pictures in the directions DO make sense). Go give this one some love…my high is 1495 so far…so THERE!
More Friday, of course!

I hope ya’ll dig my suggestions for your drunkenness this evening…I know I do.
Five Errors: http://teppo.tv/pelisali/index_en.html
Remember the back of HIGHLIGHTS where you had to find the differences between two pictures? Yeah, those were easy…what happens when they grow up? Uh-uh…6951 points is my best so far…enjoy sucker.
Squares 2: http://www.blinkyou.com/codes/flash/squares.swf
Get the black, stay away from the red. Simple. Yeah….OY!
Proximity: http://games.zoink.com/index.php/game/861/Proximity/
What do you get when you cross Othello with Risk? Suffering, baby, suffering.
GAME OF THE WEEK!
Monster Master: http://www.playgamesonly.com/play/Monster-Master
Take Magic, Pokemon and Yu-gi-yo and strip them to their core and you get this simple, quick (!!!) and ridiculously fun little card came. There’s no scores and there’s no way to share progress. On the other hand there’s also not 5,000,000 cards and you don’t have to have a PhD in Chaos theory to play well. This gets the Kep Star of the Week because it’s simply enjoyable to play over a work break…no collecting, no trading, no storage, no games lawyers…just fun!

I know, I know, REAL bloggers don’t let being out of town stop them from writing inane things int heir fuzzy, little online worlds…I do…cope.
BUT I’M HERE NOW! WOOPIE!
First up: BOOMSHINE
http://bored.com/boomshine/index.htm
Now, here’s a strange little game…sort of like puzzlegame meets shooter. But you get one shot. Shoot one of the dots, blow it up and if any others are in range they go too. Simple. Yeah right.
Next up: MiniPut III
http://wegame.info/games/miniputt3.swf
This has all the feel of a good ol’ 1994 game played on a 386…but without the hiccups and bad graphics. Ok. the graphics are not good…but they aren’t bad either. This is exactly what it says it is…MiniPut Golf…and it’s (gasp!) FUN! The shelf life of a game like this is about three games before you’ll move on, but it’s an entertaining three games.
GAME OF THE WEEK: VIVA VOODOO!
http://www.vivavoodoo.com/
For anyone who ever thought "Man, I just love being a Yeti and smashing penguins (Good evening, Mr. Bonds) but I need more depth in my virtual death relationships" have I got a game for you! VIVA VOODOO is wicked good fun…has suprise endings and the best soundtrack of the week by far! This is smart, Gorey fun at it’s best! So far I’m terrible…2084 is my best, but I bet a few of you out there are real rope pullers and aren’t ashamed to tell us all about it. Go hang a voodoo doll and don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Until next time when there WILL be comic book news from the pen of this old scribe (REALLY!).
AEIOU,
Kep!

Sorry gang, I was at the bookstore getting Harry Potter 7….I didn’t get home until 3am. Shoot me.
MEANWHILE!
Here’s a few little ditties to keep everyone checking their highscores all week!
Lasers! http://laser.narr.as/laser.swf
Here’s a little puzzle game that’ll make you break out your protractors. All you have to do is break the lightbulbs…yeah.
Card Toss! http://www.cardtoss.com/
Now you no longer have to be broed and drunk to spend the evening tossing cards into a hat! YES! Finally an excuse to do it at any time at all!
Alter Ego http://theblackforge.net/alterego/alterego
What do you get when you cross the Meyer’s Briggs with Zork? ALTER EGO! If you are into thought provoking, inner workings of yourself this is going to be a great game for you…if you have any other personality you’re going to give this 10 seconds and move on…but for what it is, it’s really nifty.
RALLY http://rally.jowood.com/rally.html
Remote control cars from 1979! You remember them, they had one button…go or go faster…I still can’t drive.
PIG FART!!! http://www.panlogic.co.uk/zed/fart_game/index.html
Have you ever woken up in the morning and thought "I hate my job…I hate my life…and what the *&%# was I drinking last night?" No? Well, in that case you’ve never had the "Morning After Farts. If you HAVE had the MAFs then you’ll understand this game all too well. Thank GAWD they don’t make virtual smells…yet.
